FOOD
Wine and food. Food and wine.
Yeah sure, wine and wine is pretty good. So is food and food. But, you wouldn’t go to a baseball game without chowing a hot dog or a bag of peanuts, would you? How about January ice skating outdoors without a hot cocoa?
The point: It is possible to make something brilliant, um, more brillianter. In fact, our wines are made to complement your meal, not overpower it. It’s part of our Manifesto!.
And the great thing is a little bit of knowledge starts you on a trip that goes a long way. You don’t need to begin a connoisseur. Let Manifesto! pack your bags and set you off exploring with some hints:
Generally, Sauvignon Blanc’s light, crisp nature makes it a natural with poultry, pork or fish. It’s also great with Asian, vegetarian and spicy foods. Our Sauvignon Blanc is extremely versatile, with a healthy dose of food-friendly acidity. It accentuates anything spicy or exotic, refreshingly cuts through fried or buttery food, and brings out complexity in seafood and vegetables.
Cabernet Sauvignon, on the other hand, is bolder. Dark cherries, currant and tobacco aren’t small flavors. Plus, the wine’s tannins—which cause that astringent, puckery sensation—are hard to miss. This is what makes Cabernet Sauvignon a favorite of steak eaters. Put it on the table next to steak, prime rib or smoky foods. Oh, and chocolate.
To recap, let’s call Sauvignon Blanc the late-spring party in the park down the street and Cabernet Sauvignon the dark, smoky bar in Rio De Janeiro.
Now after all of this, here’s the paradox: This might all just be a big load of, um, something. Find out what you like. Try it. Switch it around. Try it again. Sauvignon Blanc with chocolate? Might just be your thing. Cabernet Sauvignon with chicken? Might just make your mouth water. Ever try carrot cake and a lager beer? Sure, it might sound gross—but some of us love it.
Don’t let the nail that sticks up be hammered down. There are rules, sure. But we like to call them guidelines. After all, rules are made to be broken.
We already created our Manifesto!. We want you to create your own…
